It was 7:00am and my cell phone rings. It was Lauren, her first words-Jose I need your help!!!
I quickly questioned why she was calling me so early! Her response was easy, she told me she wanted to surprise Elias but needed my assistance. So we staged and tricked Elias into thinking that we had landed a his and hers car photoshoot for a magazine. He was excited and agreed to clean and prep the cars for the shoot. (he spent all Sunday cleaning both cars)
As they arrived on location the cars were positioned and I began photographing the cars. It took me about 20 minutes and I said to both of them, let's take a picture of you guys in front of the cars just in case the "magazine" wants a picture of the actual owners.
Given the history between the couple and me, "I filmed their wedding in Aruba" I convinced Elias that we should walk across the street and take a few portraits since they both love to take pictures. He agreed and that's when the script changed.
Lauren and I had planned to surprise Elias with these cute chalk boards, which I had in my camera bag from a "previous shoot" as I handed each a marker and a board I asked them to write something funny about each other. I counted to 3 and that's when Elias life changed forever.
